It is a tough period of time for residents of some Kaduna communities since a recent flood incident has sent them packing from their homes.
In the Kaduna north area of Kaduna state, residents of Kigo Road, Kabala Doki and Kabala constain have called on the Federal and State governments to intervene following the unfortunate incident. Also calling for the support and help of both the State and Federal government over flood occurrence are residents of Bashama Road in Tudun-Wada in the Kaduna South area of the state. The residents informed Journalists that the river Kaduna is the reason for the flood, as it is filled to capacity. The river is said to have started overflowing through its bank, hence, the flood While addressing Journalists, the leader of the Kaduna communities affected by the flood, Ibrahim Musa Yakodo stated that the communities need urgent government assistance. He said the residents need urgent relocation to safer places. Yakodo said majority of the residents of the communities are landlords who cannot afford to rent houses elsewhere. He said since they own houses within the communities, it is now very difficult for them to relocate.
