Outgoing OPEC Secretary General Muhammad Barkindo is dead. he passed on yesterday night. NNPC Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari broke the news in his Twitter Handle.
Barkindo headed OPEC Secretariat for six years and is believed to have left only a few days ago. He was in Abuja yesterday for an Oil Conference that is still ongoing. Shortly after that he was in the Villa where Buhari praised him for his service to Nigeria and the OPEC.
The nature of the ailment that terminated his life so fast is still unknown.
Barkindo is to be buried shortly.
